Living My Life Project
Promoting Supported Decision Making
At Be Well Co, we are proud to be part of the Living My Life project. Led by SAHMRI, in partnership with the Office of the Public Advocate and the Department of Health and Wellbeing, the Living My Life Project aims to promote the use fo Supported Decision Making practices across the disability sector.
What is the project about?
The project involves the testing of an enhanced approach to supporting adults under guardianship of the public advocate to make decisions that affect their life whilst having access to hospital service systems in a way that makes reference to their current and future life and health care wishes.
The project aims to support the community and support structures around a person with a disability by providing upskilling, thereby positively impact the disabled person.

We set out to support people with disabilities under the guardianship of the Public Advocate who are at greatest risk of not being able to express and realise their life goals and health wishes (including advance care directives), by providing training to improve access and experiences with mainstream and specialist health care services.

Be Well Plan
We aim to build capacity and wellbeing of sectors that interface with people with disability (that is , staff of health and disability services, SA Health, carers and OPA staff) by providing access to our Be Well programs and to consider the accessibility of our solutions for people with disability.
