Practical workplace workshop
Using strengths to improve wellbeing, performance, and teamwork
Everyone has strengths, but many people aren’t aware of what theirs are, how to use them well, or how they show up at work. This interactive, evidence-based workshop introduces the science of character strengths and helps participants recognise, apply, and balance their strengths in a way that supports both individual wellbeing and team performance.
Key learning outcomes
Participants will:
- Understand what character strengths are and how they differ from values
- Identify their own signature strengths
- Practise recognising strengths in themselves and others
- Learn how strengths can be overused or underused
- Explore how strengths influence behaviour, communication, and reactions
- Apply strengths in practical ways within their role and team
When strengths go unnoticed or misused
Many workplaces focus on what needs fixing. While this can help solve problems, it often overlooks what helps people and teams perform at their best. This can show up as:
- Strengths being underused or overlooked
- Strengths being overused in ways that create friction
- Difficulty recognising strengths in others
- Misinterpreting behaviours, leading to defensiveness or misunderstanding
Without a shared language for strengths, teams miss opportunities to improve wellbeing, collaboration, and performance.
